Dogs
Monday January 5, 2025
I’ve broken my promise of keeping this short recently so as way of forgiveness, behold: Dogs.
One Lyric: “Cut my life into pieces/This is my last resort” - “Last Resort” by Papa Roach
This is Goose. Goose has been going through an emo punk phase. We keep catching him watching:
One Video: “Wet Dreamz” by J. Cole
Goose just pretends that they’re both boy dogs because, as we know, he’s gay with:
One Person: Sox
Unfortunately, Sox just moved to Los Angeles, which, we suspect, is a core cause for his heightened emotional sensitivity. Goose will likely have to spend more time with his local side pup, Fenton, or perhaps indulge those confusing feelings about daycare bestie, Briana (whom we have never met and cannot say we approve of.)
Perhaps Goose will succumb to the temptations of heterosexuality and take Briana on a rejuvenating vacation to:
One Place: York, ME
where they’ll find local clamdigger, Skipper, who might put his tennis ball down long enough to take them on an olfactory tour of the rocky coastline, sampling the finest shellfish and sea detritus before an evening enjoying the local company theater’s performance of:
One Quote: “STELLAAAAAAAA” - A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams
But Goose will discover that the work of Tennessee Williams is triggering, given his harrowing birth into homelessness in the Volunteer State and his mother’s death in the subsequent evacuation North.
This realization will jar him back into himself, and he’ll recall a photo his father had shown him earlier that week, one that had occasionally dallied through the forefront of his consciousness throughout but now held firmly:
One Activity: Chasing balls
“No,” Goose will think, “I’m surely gay. Manny’s so hot.” And because he’s kind and was raised right, he will make it clear to Briana that they can only ever be friends before showing up outside Sox’s window with a boombox raised over his head, blaring:
One Song: “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye
A song recommended to him by his libertine friend, Chili, but Sox will already be gone. So Goose will go home and watch:
One Hollywood: Bluey, Disney+
Because it’s his favorite show and it always draws out the silver in the grayest skies. And then he’ll call up Fenton for dog love is a capacious beast.

This was quite the ride for a Monday morning. Happy writing!
Hi, Goose! LOVE, she-who-shall-not-be named
